How to Use Bash Shell Aliases

alias

If you find yourself repeatedly using multiple command-line instructions, you can use aliases to assign shorthand names to groups of commands for easier use. Below are some aliases I find useful when solving PS (Problem Solving) challenges. Originally, running code required two separate steps — compiling and then executing — but now it can be done with a single command.

alias runkt='f() { kotlinc $1.kt -include-runtime -d $1.jar && java -jar $1.jar; unset -f f; }; f'
alias rungo='f() { go run $1.go;};f'
alias runjava='f() { javac $1.java && java $1;}; f'
